For this file, I am getting the prompt saying "The source compression type is not supported". Is this a problem with my system or AME simply doesn't support this format?

Naming png sequence with specific frame numbers from After Effects

$

I am currently using Media Encoder 7.2.2.29 and After Effects version 12.2.1, and I am running it on Mac OSX 10.8.2

I am making an animated sequence in After Effects that after exporting I caught a few things I want to change throughout the piece.  I had rendered it out as a PNG sequence, so I would like to only replace the frames that need fixing.  How can I control the naming convention of the PNG files from Adobe Media Encoder?  Say I wanted to render frames 1 - 200, 370 - 400, and 500-600, how could I set up each sequence so it would keep the exact frame number from the composition in its name?  Right now I am just keeping track of which beginning and end frames I am using and will use Bridge to batch rename, but I would love to know if there is a way to set this up in the render.

Thanks!

So a few days ago i download adobe premiere and CC 2017 and media encoder, at first I could import my mp4 files with no problem abd export them as h.264 format with no problem. But now I can't import mp4 files at all, it only imports the audio. I converted all my files to AVI and i finally could import them but whenever i tried to  export it i got the following error:

Compressing .mov and keeping alpha without changing to .flv

$

Hello,

I am trying to run a .mov file with alpha through Adobe Media Encoder to get a compressed .mov file with alpha.

I found that I could change the file type to .flv with On2 VP6 codec, but I cannot use that because my file type must be .mov.  I am bringing the compressed .mov into Unity as a movie texture and Unity will only accept .mov .mpg .mpeg .mp4 .avi .asf.

Is there a way that I can run a .mov with alpha through AME and get a compressed .mov with alpha?

Thank you

Jon

Media Encoder won't import After Effect Project

As in title, I would like to import .ae project to encoder to batch all compositions, and it doesn't work. Video below.

My spec:

Adobe Media Encoder CS6 (6.0.2.81(64bit))

After Effects CS6

Mac OSX 10.8.2

Project don't have any third-party plug-ins

AME produces tiny h264 file even though its set to CBR 120Mbps

I am trying to encode an mp4/h.264 of a slowly changing gradient background with text overlays (generated in AE). With a 2min clip, 3840x1620px, encoder set to CBR 120Mbps, AME says it will produce a file about 1.7GB, it actually produces a file of 92.6MB that is riddled with banding and compression artefacts.

BIC_Pastel_Quotes-Test_1_006717.jpg

This is an example source frame. I've tried encoding directly from the AE composition or exporting a tiff sequence from AE and encoding that. I've tried a variety of VBR/CBR and bit rate settings. All with no change. It comes out as 92.6MB whatever I do.

"Metal" GPU rendering...

Hi all,

I'm a long-time AME user on Win platforms, and I just setup CC on an iMac for the first time. While there is no "CUDA" available on OS, it does have "OpenCL" and "Metal" GPU rendering options. "Open CL" I've heard of, but "Metal" is new to me. Can anyone tell me what this is for? Pros and cons vs OpenCL?

The machine is a late 2015 iMac, 3.2gHz Intel Core i5, with an AMD Radeon R9 M390 (2GB) GPU...

Thanks!

After Effects linked project in Premiere warping in Media Encoder

$

Hi folks,

Hoping somebody can help me out with this problem.

My team here has recently completed this project and now I am doing the DVD, so i export the project from Premiere (which includes linked compositions from After Effects) as an MPEG2-DVD, as I find this gives me the best quality DVD image.

The problem, one of the After Effects compositions "warps" when I export it this way. (ie: the super looks like it is corrupt. The rest f the image on the screen looks just fine.) It works just fine in the timeline, and in the master version (H264). It just doesn't seem to like this MPEG2-DVD export. It only does this with the one comp (out of many), so logically it must be a problem with the comp itself.

Has anyone had this problem before, or have any ideas as to how we might go about fixing it?

Cheers folks!

Daniel

Keeping source timecode when using stitch clips together

Hi all,

I'm using Prelude/Media Encoder 2015 to ingest footage. Clips currently have source timecode but when stitched together, the start timecode is reset to 01:00:00:00

Is there a way to maintain source timecode when stitching clips together?

Thank you!

Hello, I have a problem with the rendering in Media Encoder CC. When I'm rendering the video suddenly a message appears "THE LIST OF audio devices connected to the operating system has been changed. Do you want to open the Audio Hardware preferences?" and the rendering get stoped increasing the time until the infinite.

Any suggestion?

Thanks a lot.

Adobe Media Encoder Fail - need help please

$

I keep getting a failed error when trying to use Adobe Media Encoder.

I open up my premiere project and select the comp I want.  I switch the format to Quicktime, select h.264 from preset.  Hit the start button and I get the failed sound/icon.

2 questions:

1. My comp is 1920x1080 but when I go in it automatically has it as 720... why is it not recognizing the comp size?

2. Is there a way to fix this error?  It seems to export occassionally to my C drive (which is not raid) but it fails to my F drive (Raid 10).  But usually if I export as a wmv or something smaller it exports fine to F.

DNxHD85 Codec Missing from Version 2016 Onwards

As per the title. Media Encoder 2016 onwards appears to have dropped the DNxHD85 codec option. We use this as part of a workflow so we cannot update beyond the 2015 release.

Adobe, are you aware this has been dropped? and if so can this be put back in, in the next release?

Export Error. Error compiling movie. Disk Full.

I have the following error since CS6 when exporting some videos: Export Error. Error compiling movie. Disk Full.

All my drives have plenty of space, NTFS 7200rpm, everything was fine with CS5.5. Same problem with Encoder or Premiere Pro.

Much of the stuff I export is going fine but I have this error with some sequences and formats.

It always crash to this error when exporting sequences with "Match Sequence Settings".

For one of my projects, when exporting to wmv, out of 6 sequences one always crash to Export Error. Error compiling movie. Disk Full.

If I encode those sequences to mpeg2, everything is fine.

I installed the new update this morning but it doesn't help.

H.264 - too high bitrate & large size of videofile

$

Hi together,

I have a problem with encoding a 550 seconds long video file (output format is Quicktime) coming from Premiere Pro CS6. The video is 1080p/25fps and it was recorded in a car while driving, so its very motion biased. (I got an Intel i7-2630QM with 8GM RAM and nVidia GT550M inside my laptop.)

Now, when I convert the video to H.264 Blu-ray (custom settings: VBR 2 passes, Average bitrate 10MBit/s, Max.: 12 MBit/s) I always notice that the filesize is way too big. In fact, its always 4.97GB.

I encoded the video several times again with decreased average and max. bitrate (I decreased it several times by 2 MBit/s both avg. and max.) and the funny thing is, the filesize remains the same! No matter whether I select 12Mbit/s, 10 or 8. Its still around 5GB.

12MBit/s * 550 seconds = 1.5MB/s * 550 seconds = 825MB That should be the filesize by assuming the maximum(!) Bitrate of 12Mbit/s. But why the heck do I get a 5GB file?

So the problem is that the filesize absolutely doesn't correspond with the Mbit/s settings. Anybody experienced same issue already?

Thanks in advance! =)

how to export a high quality mp4 with a smaller file size? anyone could teach me the particular settings?

Simple crop and the file size triples

Good day,

I'm trying to figure out why a video encoded using AME comes out with a much bigger file size than the original. Even if all I'm doing is using it to trim the source file. No change in settings, bit rate, dimensions etc.

In the current example I'm taking a webex recordings and trimming out some dead space in the beginning. I've lowered every setting (video and audio) I can to it's lowest potential and the resulting file looks worse than the original and is triple the file size. Both the source and the result are .mp4.

Please assist. The is making the files go from email-able to not. Making a video shorter shouldn't make it larger....

Thank you for your help.

File size is always larger than source

Greetings,

Why is it, no matter what settings I choose, If I render a video file, the output is ALWAYS a larger file size than the source file? Even if  minimally touched.
Heck even if I trim it to make it shorter, it's still larger.
Here is the AME settings to a project where all I did was put a white box over 4 sec of text. And the final file is almost twice as big and of much crappier quality at these settings
