Random "Could not write XMP data in output file." Warnings

In the newest version of Adobe Media Encoder CC (7.1.0.174 (64-bit)), I'm randomly getting the warning: "Could not write XMP data in output file."

The weird thing is, I have XMP file writing turned off completely. Metadata Export Options: None. I'm never seeing the sidecar files at all in my output destination(s).

Does anyone else have XMP writing turned off, but are still getting these warnings?

It's a little annoying, but more importantly, I'm starting to fully ignore the warning icons, and I may be missing real, important warnings.

H.264 Encoding Complete, But Not Really

$

I've been using Adobe Media Encoder for four or five years. I'm pretty used to it's quirks. New users may not be.

Most of my videos are around 40 minutes in length. When I choose to encode an H.264 file, once the progress bar gets to 100%, I know I'll have to sit there and wait for a while. A good 10+ minutes usually.

After the progress bar gets to 100%, what I believe the encoder is doing—I could be wrong—is first interleaving the audio and video files. Then possibly checking the integrity of the file... there's definitely a second or third step that happens post the 100% mark in AME, after the interleaving.

I'm curious as to why these post encoding steps aren't displayed within the Encoder. If I was new to AME, I'd think there might be something wrong if a progress bar were to freeze at 100%.

Is it possible to a progress bar that looks at the progress of the interleaving step and reports to the user the progress of what is going on? If not, maybe have some sort of indefinite progress indicator bar that keeps track of the progress of these post-encoding steps? Ex: "Finishing up; performing step 1 of 3." with some sort of animation in the progress bar area to prove to the user that the software hasn't locked up.

I can watch the output location and see the filesize of a tempoary file increasing in bytes, so I as a human can judge approximately how long I'll have to wait for the file to be finished for real. I'm just wondering why AME can't/doesn't track the process of these steps and report them to the user. Do these post processing steps only really affect H.264, so it didn't seem worthwhile to include?

Is there anything I can say to persuade you guys to attempt to include something like this in a future version of AME?

Quicktime Export options are missing (only in AME)

Hey,

I already searched around for a while and also found another thread in this board, as well some info in the official documentation, saying that AME only installs certain export options, if it's not installed within the proper package of applications (like premiere or after effects).

Well, I did install it as part of the Master Collection, and also have both Premiere and AFX up and running.

The Initial install was a horrible procedure, since there was still some photoshop cs6 beta file lurking around and just wouldnt leave, even with the CS cleaner tool.

When I finally managed to install CS6, everything worked fine, except one major flaw.. When I export a file from premiere as a quicktime, everyhting works as it should. But when I hit "send to AME", the quicktime preset just doesnt make it's way over to the media encoder, but I have only h264 and 4 other formats to choose from. Just no QT available. (I'm on a mac).

I already tried installing the entire package over the original installation, but it didnt help. I also have CS6 installed on my macbook, where everything works perfectly fine. I compared the media encoder folder on both machines and it's identical in size. In the library I wasn't able to find any media encoder related files.

Please, does anyone have any Idea how to get QT export in ame up and running again without going through a complete cleansing of my system and reinstall the whole package? I'm in the middle of a project now and would really like to have it working.

(it worked before in cs5, btw)

Audio Lowering During Export in Premiere and AME

We are on the latest and greatest Creative Cloud (7.1) for Premiere and AME.

We receive interleaved 5.1 and stereo LT/RT audio tracks back from our audio engineers using Nuendo.

The 5.1 comes out at the correct level.

The LT/RT audio drops approximately 6 dB's lower whether it's AME or Media Encoder.

Is there some audio setting we are in the mixer that is defaulting to drop the audio?  Similar to the center channel pan that makes everything dual mono if turned off?

AME has not downloaded to my computer woth Premiere. I would like to know if there is a location that I can download this as a stand alone rather than bundled with Premiere.

I am using win7 64 bit 12gb ram on adobe CC full subscription.

Adobe: I have asked this question in these forums a few times in the past month and have had no response at all. Please let me know if there is another place or way to ask these questions? I'm confused about what to do here - i am paying full price for the service and can not get any support on a problem? Please answer me!

AME Black Screen

I was trying to change the settings of a video I queued from Adobe Premier Pro, to Adobe Media Encoder. Upon discovering that the file would be saved in a wrong folder, I closed Adobe Media Encoder to create new folders on my drive. When I tried to relaunch the video on AME, I kept seeing only a black screen, or worse the video options are completely gone.

Adobe Encoder crash with a r6025 pure virtual function since last update and Aero enabled

Adobe Encoder crash with a r6025 pure virtual function call when I export most of my sequences (mostly multicam sequences) to it when Aero is enabled. Everything was working fine before the 7.1 update.

Any solution for that?

Green or Purple line at the end of Clips after render

This is the second time I have encountered a thin green or purple line at the end of clips from Rendering in AME, it seems to be off and on problem.  But this should NOT be happening.  I generated it in PPcc.  Anyone know why this is happening?  Another co-worker of mine is having the same problem.

AME keeps crashing when I export from Premiere Pro

After I updated to the latest version of Premiere Pro (October Release), every time I export a project from premiere pro and use AME it crashes everytime. I tried unistalling all the app and reinstalling and still no success. This is happening on my MacPro and Mac Book Pro. so I know its not something corrupt on one computer, because it happens on both systems and on different projects. I repaired my permissions and reset the preferances on Premiere and Media Encoder. Im runiing OS 10.9

Exports with Embeded TC not working anymore-v7.1

Am I missing a settting?

Recent upgrade to AME v7.1 and no longer get embeded TC with QT exports from PPro via AME (queue). ProRes 422 proxy...Match Seq Settings. Has been working before upgrade.

I can get embedded TC thru direct export out of PPro v7.1...so something has changed? Or could be an AME preference? I had to trash preferences today...but exports from last week did not have embedded TC either.

Any ideas?

thanks!

Rendering Motion Blur and Frame Blending of an After Effects composition

At the moment, the only way I know for Adobe Media Encoder to render properly Motion Blur and Frame Blending is to enable the proper switches of the comp panel in After Effects THEN send to AME. This is not really user friendly, and I generally forget to turn them on.

Is there any chance that you finally implement something like the AE render settings panel (where Motion Blur and Frame Blending are usually on by default) ?

3 Green Pixels Introduced in XGA MP4 Encode

$

I'm encoding a MP4 for a museum exhibit. It's resolution is XGA, 1024 x 768. The resulting out hs introduced 3 pixels of green up and down the entire right edge of the frame. So far, I've only noticed this problem with XGA encodes. Years ago, I experienced a similar issue with non-adobe software when encoding an XGA file into an MPEG-2 using Heuris' MPP2 as well Compressor when outputing to H264 MOVs.

This occurs dispite my source file codec or color depth.  Anyone know of a way around this or why this is happening? Is there an inherent issue with encoding a 1024x768 file to a 4:2:0 or 4:1:1 color sampled codec?

The screen shot is of the MP4 viewed in After Effects:

Here are my encoding specs:

AME deleted my source files...

After fixing some problems with a compilation of videos I have I sent the corrected files to Encoder to export them.

After an obnoxious goat sound encouder force quit itself and my original source files are gone, not in the trash not even in .PRV folder and when I open the project up it says my media is offline and can not be located.

The files quite literally evaporated. Unfortuanley these WERE my back up files an now all of my work is gone.

I need to figure out why AME shut itself down and what the hell happened to my files.

Interpret Multiple Files

I have a couple hundred AvidDV Quicktime files, I'd like to transcode. Unfortunately, AME doesn't see the interlace correctly. Is it possible to set-up how multiple files are interpreted. I saw someone said a couple years ago that selecting all the files and then selecting "Interpret Footage..." would work, but it doesn't seem to in CS6.

Thanks.

I film using a NEX - VG30 which films in AVCHD.

What i need is a program that can.

b) Watermark all the videos.

c) Do both at the same time at a touch of a button.

Can i acheive this with AME CC?

Options/formats for 10-bit or 12-bit encoding?

$

Does anyone know if Media Encoder offers any options for encoding media at 10-bit or 12-bit color in a single container format?  Let's assume it's a simple 20 minute video with a single audio track that I want to deliver with 10-bit or 12-bit video all in a single file.  (I'd be happy to find a codec/container that allows me to deliver just the image part at the higher bit depth, too, if it's not possible to have it all muxed into the same file.)

It seems like the MXF container would be good with AVC-Intra (or similar) at 100Mbps using 10-bit 4:2:2, but I cannot seem to find how to encode to this format within Adobe Media Encoder CC.

That is, aside from these options:

- Image sequences

- DNxHD

- Apple ProRes

Image sequences are an okay option, but normally require you to bump up to 16-bit color and forfeit a single file.  (I'm fine with image sequences, and I use them all the time...but my question is about getting 10 or 12 bit color inside a single file container.)

DNxHD is a great option...however, it maxes out at 10-bit color and has limitations on resolution/frame rate.

ProRes is also a great option.  However, this one comes with the same caveats as DNxHD...with the added frustration and hassle of dealing with reading it (much less being able to write it) on a Windows machine.

Any input or suggetsions would be greatly appreciated.  I'm just trying to get a feel for what's available in the way of codecs and options inside AME for encoding files with higher color depth.
